My wife Carrie and I opened LB Skate in 2010. Our shop was opened with the focus on the skateboarders, and everything else second. When we say, we are a community first skateboard shop, we are not fronting. Our tool bench and board setup area is our dinner table. It is where we bond and get to know the skateboarders in our community. Long Beach has a very diverse skateboard community. On any given day, you can run into the originator of skateboarding (Ray Barbee, Mike Vallely, Geoff Rowley), or see a kid pushing a board for the first time. Many of the skateboarders that call Long Beach home come from all around the world. Long Beach is the “International City” and it proves true that it is also “International Skate City”. If I am not in the shop, or working in the back, I am running around with these three ladies pictured here. Me and the crew over here have a lot of ideas about how to continue to make LB Skate better and better. These next couple months are going to get real rad! Keep cruising along the journey with us! All my best – Tim Scanlan #FamilyOwned
