Nike introduces the Nike SB Air Force 1—a new grail-level silhouette that refines the classic Nike Air Force 1 for modern skateboarding performance. Designed to merge a specialized fit with iconic style, this updated model is built for the board while staying true to its roots.
Built for Performance
The Nike SB Air Force 1 combines the timeless low-top look with advanced skate-specific engineering:
- Air unit in the heel for impact protection
- Reduced midsole height for enhanced board feel
- Modified herringbone tread pattern for optimal grip and flexibility
Additional upgrades include a reinforced padded tongue, internal fit straps, and collar fit pods—delivering a secure, responsive feel whether worn laced or unlaced. A revised toe profile and stitch-turned seams provide added durability and precision control for skaters at every level.
Designed with Skateboarding in Mind
Every detail of the shoe was shaped by feedback from the Nike SB team, ensuring comfort and performance straight out of the box while preserving the DNA of the original silhouette.
“We had to find the right balance between delivering for skateboarders and honoring an icon,” said Mau Rosillo of Nike’s Color Design team. “Every performance detail—from the midsole to the upper—was carefully considered and brought together in the Air Force 1.”
