Yuto Horigome Gets The First Pro Nike SB Air Force 1 Colorway

Yuto Horigome Gets The First Pro Nike SB Air Force 1 Colorway

Yuto Horigome is adding another major release to his Nike SB lineup with the Yuto Horigome x Nike SB Air Force 1.

The two-time Olympic gold medalist is the first pro skater to put his own colorway on Nike SB's newly redesigned Air Force 1, bringing his clean style and signature details to one of Nike's most recognizable silhouettes.

The Air Force 1, Rebuilt for Skateboarding

The Air Force 1 originally debuted in 1982 as a basketball shoe and went on to become one of Nike's most iconic sneakers. More than four decades later, Nike SB has reworked the AF1 specifically for skateboarding.

This isn't simply a standard Air Force 1 with an SB logo added to it. Nike SB redesigned the shoe to sit the foot deeper and closer to the board, reinforced the upper, added skate-ready cushioning and modified the traction to improve grip and boardfeel.

The result keeps the unmistakable Air Force 1 look while making the shoe much better suited for skating.

Yuto's Take on the SB Air Force 1

Yuto's colorway takes inspiration from the original 1982 Air Force 1 High, giving the shoe a classic look with a modern skate construction.

The upper uses a combination of off-white leather and grey mesh, with Iron Grey appearing on the Swoosh and padded collar. Underneath, a Coconut Milk midsole gives the shoe a subtle vintage finish.

It's a simple color palette, but the details are what make this one Yuto's.

His signature crossed-feather family crest appears on the outer heel, while his lucky number 7 is featured prominently on the heel tab with a small Swoosh running through it. The medial side of the midsole replaces the traditional treatment with molded "YUTO" branding, and additional Yuto details appear on the tongue and insoles.

Those touches give the shoe plenty of personality without taking away from the classic AF1 design.

From the SB Dunk to the SB Air Force 1

Yuto has already built an impressive history with Nike SB.

His first Nike SB Dunk Low collaboration arrived in 2023, followed by the "Matcha" SB Dunk Low in 2025. Both incorporated details connected to Yuto and his Japanese heritage, including the crossed-feather crest that has become closely associated with his Nike SB releases.

Now he's moving from one Nike icon to another.

With the Air Force 1 newly redesigned for skateboarding, Yuto gets the distinction of putting his name on the first pro Nike SB Air Force 1 colorway.
